Meet the Numptia Superyacht

The yacht industry gives off an air of excitement and sophistication, but when you take a look at the superyacht its easy to see its in a league of its own; a world of privately owned indulgence.

The Monaco Yacht Show is the place to discover luxury yachts year after year and one of the key events in the industry, bringing hundreds of boats to Monaco harbor and debuting new concepts. This September at the 21st show the Numptia superyacht was introduced, all 70ft of it. Oozing luxury and refinement the attention to detail inside and out is outstanding. Italian shipyard, Rossi Navi Yachts handpicked the individuals that would be involved with the Numptia project and I believe that it has paid off – Enthusiasts have continuously commented on the way the Numptia has a certain timeless feel to it that captures both the classic and the contemporary.

The architect and design firm Salvagni Architetti designed the interior of the superyacht. Famous for their Italian finesse, Salvagni Architetti treats “every project is a unique opportunity to take the clients beyond their expectations. Good design does not begin with decorating but defining the architectural vocabulary of the space.” Although not that well known, the designers have helped to create interest and hype around the superyacht though mystery and artistry.

Rumor has it that the Numptia was custom designed and built to the highest of quality using only the finest materials and craftsmanship for a businessman and his large family. The devotion to detail in an almost compulsive and neurotic way has led to much discussion on the superyacht. Everything within its interior has been planned and thought out right down to the doorknobs. Although the design screams luxury the meticulous planning has sort to give a homely feel to the floating home using warm lighting and key furniture items. Who said sophistication couldn’t be comfortable?

“Each deck has its own personality, but they all fit harmoniously together to form a stylish whole, whose result is a dramatic sense of continuity, a precious wooden box which includes jewels pieces of furniture made of parchment, galuchat, glossy black ebony, bronze and Murano glass.” Throughout the 5 floors of the Numptia the theme seamlessly runs throughout drawing on earthy tones and curvaceous fixtures. Connecting the decks is an extravagant elevator, which eases access to the Numptia’s many function rooms including the 12 guest cabins (as well as a master suite and V.I.P room), dinning rooms, TV area (with 103in cinema style viewing), study and gallery.  The top part of the yacht has both a sun deck and spa deck, which includes not only a pool, gym and sauna but also a helicopter-landing pad to come and go from.

The Numptia is currently for sale through global company Burgess with its price on request, which is thought to be somewhere around 85 million.
